CALL TO ORDER Terry Schlicting called to order at 5:32pm 2. ROLL CALL Present: Terry Schlicting, Rachel Knox-Stutsman, Mandy Morgan, Marilee Boylan Board Members Absent: Linda Drees, Davina Lau, Joe Tiner, Anna Fuller, Staff Members Present: Carol Thomas, Guests: none 3. AGENDA REVIEW 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Will approve at next meeting with quorum 5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION 6. GUEST PRESENTATIONS 7. NEW BUSINESS a. Involvement Opportunities for N College Max Project Planning i. DAB is a primary stakeholder for input on this project ii. Public workshops 9/21 and 9/22 (spanish) iii. Nick (TransFort) can present to DAB, similar to Seth’s presentation Carol will follow up to see if there is additional information Terry: need more if there are changes in the design features only iv. Would DAB members be willing to participate in outreach? DAB agrees, Carol will report back to get materials for outreach v. Terry: who are other stakeholders? Carol will follow up to find out who else is receiving targeted outreach, and will get project timeline vi. Terry: where does timeline sit with the West Elizabeth corridor? Timelines may have been adjusted vii. DAB needs to be informed about boarding areas and access to platforms, what stops are going to look like. If the MAX busses are the same he wants to avoid new stops that have old problems around slope and access. If new bus models are being implemented, the DAB would need to consult on the ramps and design of those busses- when they get to that stage for each route. Updated sidewalks with projects? b. DAB 2022 Work Plan (due 11/30/21) & 2021 Annual Report (due 1/31/22) i. Important to know Council priorities to guide the DAB’s work plan, Carol will distribute to DAB members 8. OLD BUSINESS a. October National Disability Employment Awareness Month Planning i. Marketing plan is created through the City (Liz) 1. Communication plan links for National Lens website for videos 2. DAB can design what they want it to look like to reach the public and send the messaging they want ii. Rachel created an introduction iii. Communications can use outside content, but not edit it iv. Communications/Liz can decide what content to use and bring it back to the DAB to approve before posting to public v. Goal: localize without tokenizing, using sensitivity and awareness vi. Videos from ARC cannot be edited by the city vii. Marilee will arrange for outside editing of the ARC video so it can be used viii. Fort Shorts (newsletter) goes out 9/23 and 10/7 1. Would like to post in 9/23 to help announce the proclamation 2. Rachel will send photo to Carol, to go with her introduction ix. Recruitment guide is in draft form. Marilee would like to provide feedback on the content of the guide, as soon as it is available, before it is published with time to make changes as needed x. City news and city hub content will be pulled from the one-pager b. PROCLAMATION – Receiver(s) and Remarks i. October 5, 2021 ii. Marilee will attend to receive proclamation and bring ARC staff along Rachel and Mandy may attend Other DAB members will be invited via email City clerk will need to know by 9/28 that Marilee will speak 9.
